Cultivating Traditions of Wellness 2012

It is with great excitement that the Association of Asian American Pacific Community Health Organizations (AAPCHO) marks its 25th Anniversary with the Cultivating Traditions of Wellness 2012: Advancing Community Leadership Conference and Gala.

Twenty-five years ago, a number of visionary leaders in the public health and medical fields came together to give voice to the long-neglected and misunderstood communities of Asian Americans, Native Hawaiians, and Pacific Islanders (AA&NHOPI). It was through the leadership of these individuals, who wanted to raise awareness of the health issues of medically underserved AA&NHOPIs and the Community Health Centers (CHCs) that were serving these communities nationwide, that AAPCHO was formed. Since its founding, AAPCHO has been a tireless advocate for CHCs and their role in improving the health of low-income, limited English proficient, and uninsured AA&NHOPIs.

The Cultivating Traditions of Wellness 2012 Conference will bring together one of the largest gatherings of Asian American, Native Hawaiian, and other Pacific Islander health experts and advocates across the nation, and will close with the Cultivating Traditions of Wellness 2012 Gala honoring community health organizations and leaders.
